All 3 Mini-Courses for $40
If you have thought about getting started in various aspects of machine service and functional restoration, but don't have a lot of time and money for a big commitment, this is your starting point!
And your purchase can be applied toward enrollment in one of our full programs when you're ready!
Getting Started with Vintage & Antique Sewing Machines
This program will get you started with assessing your vintage or antique machines for damage, missing or broken parts, bad electrical rewiring and more. Next we'll move into cleaning and lubricating your machine to get it ready for sewing, and finally, we'll cover how to thread and sew with these magnificent machines. Balance tension and get going on your next project or for this machine's next owner. Regularly $39.
Modern Machine Maintenance Basics
This program will get you started with keeping your sewing machines in happy sewing condition between proper maintenance. We'll dig into the bobbin area, and keep that area as free of lint as possible, address threads caught in the needle bar area, and clean and check tensions discs, watching for any issues.
Next we'll dive into troubleshooting some of the most common issues such as thread nesting, skipped stitches, fabric bunching etc.. And finally, we'll go over your machine's subtle cries for help that you may be missing. Regularly $39.
This does NOT replace routine service by a professional, and does NOT remove the covers of any machine. For full professional service, see our Remove Your Covers program.
Acquiring Vintage & Antique Sewing Machines
When you find yourself bitten by the vintage bug, it's easy to start accepting and buying machines because they are free - but this can add extra hassle and cost.
This program will help you learn what to look for and what to avoid when scouting machines, how to test sew if you have a chance, and to have a solid understanding of machines with high value, and those that you should avoid at all costs.
Included in this program is free consultation on a machine you are contemplating. We are happy to help guide you personally through the pros and cons of any machine purchase you are considering. Regularly $39.
Take your first steps now, advance when you're ready
Your work in sewing machines should be enjoyable and without pressure.
