Getting Started with
Vintage Sewing Machines

I've gotten a ton of emails from folks discovering how fun and interesting it is to work with vintage machines, but are also a little intimidated and not sure where to start.

In this series, I'm going to walk you through the very basics to help you get a little more comfortable with these great machines, starting with assessing them for damage, broken parts, bad wiring, into cleaning and lubricating them to make sure they work, and wrapping up with learning how to thread them and sew your first seam.

Part 1

In this episode, I talk about assessing a vintage machine you may have adopted, acquired, inherited, or just thought was a super cool machine.  Let's make sure it's safe to operate and discover any missing parts or issues with the machine!
